Check the valve is performing optimally by conducting a simple Hot Water Failure Test. Open the mixed water outlet and with the tap running, close off the hot water supply at the isolating valve. The mixing valve should close down on the cold water supply (as the element contracts) such that no water passes from the mixing valve to the tap.
