Since 1909, Horne Engineering Ltd has been at the forefront of the design, development and manufacture of thermostatic valves for mixing and temperature control applications.
The heart of every Horne product package is a thermostatic element, a fusion of wax and copper powder for material expansion and conductivity, that enables highly accurate temperature control.
Our applications for this technology involve blending hot water with cold or mixing steam with cold water, e.g. at point-of-use (basin, bath or shower) in domestic hot water systems to (plant room) recirculating systems and process applications such as cleaning in place, hot water storage and instantaneous hot water generation.

Horne Engineering is an independent, privately-owned company that was started in Glasgow in 1909. Some of our early products included thermostatic steam traps, which were subsequently developed into thermostatic temperature control valves. These rapidly gained a reputation for accurate and reliable performance, something we continue to maintain. All of our designs are based on robust and sound engineering principles, developed over decades of manufacturing products to meet our customers’ needs.
