ECN: Dual mode accessible showers

We’re excited to announce an Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and key update and for our dual-mode manual diverter showers, which are specifically designed to enhance accessibility and usability for a wider range of users and settings.

Showing for the first time at Stand J56 at the OT Show 2024, our wall-mounted riser rail accompanying Horne dual-mode shower panels with manual diverter valve, has been extended, now offering an adjustment range of 1000mm. This is a significant improvement compared to the previous 600mm adjustment range. The updated design maintains the robust painted rail but now features fixing centers at 1060mm, ensuring greater flexibility and compliance with accessible shower design guidance.

This change is now fully in production and benefits users, carers, occupational therapists, dementia care staff, and architects working on accessible environments. By providing a wider range of adjustment, the new rail better accommodates diverse user needs, promotes independence, and supports those offering assistance in showering environments.

This engineering change broadens compliance with key design standards for accessible showers - Doc M, BS 8300, HBN 00-02, Changing Places Design Guidance, Northern Ireland Adaptations Toolkit, Wheelchair Housing Design Guide -  further reinforcing our commitment to inclusivity and user-focused innovation. Whether you're specifying for a residential adaptation, dementia care facility, or public Changing Places installation, this update ensures our dual-mode showers deliver even greater versatility.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to refine and enhance our products to meet evolving needs in accessible design!
