An integral flow regulator governs the water flow rate across a range of inlet pressures. It is accessed for removal or replacement, perhaps with a different rated flow regulator, by first removing the sprayplate. The easiest way to remove the flow regulator is to catch it in a plastic bowl - briefly turn on the flow and let the water pressure push the flow regulator out of its fitting.
