The Optitherm tap is both a mixed water tap and a dedicated cold water tap.
A bypass of the thermostatic mechanism provides dedicated cold water for handwashing and, where the supply is potable, drinking and teeth cleaning. The Optitherm is unique in this regard - the dual functionality increases cold water turnover whilst reducing stagnation, which helps in the control of waterborne bacteria such as Pseudomonas and Legionella.
