Isolate the hot and cold water supplies by means of the integral ball valves accessed underneath the tap spigot. Open the levers to allow residual water to drain. Remove the tap's bottom cover using a strap wrench. Using a 12mm hex key remove the hot and cold strainer/check valve cartridges. Dirt collects on the inside of the strainer basket to protect the check valve and downstream thermostatic control mechanism. The strainer baskets are removeable for rinsing under running water. Re insert the strainer baskets - note that they are not interchangeable - and tighten into place with the hex key. Replace the tap's bottom cover cap and tighten using the strap wrench. Reopen the hot and cold water supplies.
