This post refers to a piece of Horne product literature entitled 'Horne's Specialities' that we believe dates from the 1930s.
In addition to the 1930s thermostatic valves and blenders we also manufactured sterilisers for sputum mugs and dishes (page 19) and, in a separate device thankfully, bed pans. Our record books show that we were supplying these to fever houses, poor houses and asylums at this time and so it is unsurprising that we were also manufacturing equipment that used steam and hot water. The steriliser for sputum mugs and dishes also featured an integrated “silent heater”.
