BREEAM 2011 - New Construction

From 1st July 2011, the BREEAM 2011 New Construction document will replace BREEAM 2008 as the current version for new building assessment registrations and certifications.

Some areas of the assessment method have been restructured resulting in reclassification and relabelling of some of the issues covered, for example 2008 HEA 12 (Health & Wellbeing Category, section 12: Minimising risk of contamination) is now dealt with in 2011 HEA 04 (Health & Wellbeing Category, Section 04 Water Quality - Building services water systems: minimising risk of contamination).

Product features such as integral flow regulators, 'off-site' assembly and ease of maintenance can all contribute to sustainable design and offer credits in the following BREEAM 2011 categories:

  • MAN 01 - Sustainable Procurement
  • MAN 04 - Stakeholder Participation
  • MAN 05 - Life Cycle Cost and Service Life Planning
  • HEA 04 - Water Quality
