Inside Scotland's newest Hospital

Here's a selection of images taken inside Scotland's newest and largest Hospital, South Glasgow University Hospital.

Nicknamed in the media as The Death Star, due to its enormous size and cross configuration, the majority of published images of the adult hospital are external aerial views and the bright and spacious atrium with its iconic coloured consulting room boxes that jutt from the wall out into the wide and tall space.  Beyond the unexpected entrance, that's more like the corporate headquarters of a global enterprise, the corridors and rooms look more like you would expect in a brand new hospital.

Images are from recovery and theatre areas and also an accessible en-suite single room.

The Hospital has over 2,500 Optitherm clinical taps fitted throughout the building - for clinical and surgical hand wash - and 1313 wall mounted shower panels.

Transfer of patients from four ageing hospitals across Glasgow is scheduled to be complete by the end of June 2015.
