Installation
The HORNE
EA-1 valve must be fitted above the heating coil in the tank. It may be
fitted in any orientation where the thermostat element is level with,
or below, the valve body. It should NOT be fitted with the thermostat
element above the valve body. A strainer should be fitted in the pipeline
before each valve.
|
Where
the HORNE EA-1 is being fitted to a tank which also contains an
electric immersion heater, the electrical heater thermostat MUST
be set at a slightly lower temperature than the control temperature
for the HORNE EA-1, otherwise the HORNE EA-1 thermostat element
will be overheated.

 |
The
HORNE EA-1 thermostat element must be located in a position which
is always immersed in the fluid being heated. Where the element is
inserted vertically in the tank, the thermostat pocket must be long
enough to ensure that, at the lowest liquid level in the tank, at
least 230mm of the thermostat pocket is immersed in the liquid. The
HORNE EA-1 valve includes an integral thermostat pocket. It should
NEVER be fitted into a separate pocket or thermowell. |
