We
would like to welcome two new Sales Engineers to the Horne Sales
Team. Sean Ryan and Andy Pennells will take over the North East
and North West of England territories after Bill Smith, our agent
of 14 years, takes retirement at the end of April. Bill has very
successfully grown the territories during his time representing
Horne Engineering and we wish him well for his retirement.

We
are pleased to announce that our range of surface
mounted shower panels have been accepted onto the Water
Technology List under the category of Efficient Showers. The panels
have been accepted into two sub-categories: thermostatically controlled
shower sets and mechanical timed flow controls.
All
Horne shower panels limit the flow rate to 8 litres/minute at
3 bar pressure through the presence of a flow regulator or flow
restrictor. Shower panels with timed flow controls turn off after
a period of time and thus reduce water wastage when showers are
left running.
The
Enhanced Capital Allowance (ECA) Scheme allows companies to reduce
their tax bill by offsetting the capitals cost of water saving
products against their taxable profit. For example, a company
has taxable profits of £10,000 but in that tax period invested
£3000 on WTL approved products. The tax payable will be
calculated on the basis of only £7,000 profit, thus giving
a valuable boost to cash-flow.

further information about the Water Technology List, please click

March 2005:
We
are proud to launch a brand new mobile showroom for our range
of shower panels and thermostatic mixing valves. The high roof,
long wheel base Renault van has been kitted out to display mixing
valves and shower panels as they might appear in a real installation.
Whether you are an Architect or an Hospital Engineer, Consulting
Engineer or Contractor, the mobile mock-up can aid you in visualising
your own installations. The van is predominantly available in
London, the South East and the East Midlands area, but will also
cover the South West, Wales and the North of England by request.
A demonstration van is available in Scotland via our Sales Agent,
Ron Hutchison.
If
you would like the demo unit to visit your site or premises, please
contact Hannah Whitelaw on 01505 321455.

& 24 March 2005
We
hosted two factory visits for delegations from the East Midlands
branch of the Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management
(IHEEM) on Thursdays 10th and 24th March. Both days consisted
of a number of presentations covering the history of Thermostatic
Mixing Valves (TMVs), Horne's role in the development of thermostatic
mixing technology and regulations relating to the control of legionella
and the prevention of scalding using
TMVs. In the afternoon, testing and maintenance of TMVs was demonstrated
and discussed. A Horne 15 valve was also put through its paces
on a D 08 test rig.

October 2004:
After 15 years of representing Horne in the East Midlands region,
Sales Engineer Ron Turner has decided to hang up his workboots
in order to pursue his passion for flying. Ron has successfully
developed our presence in the territory over the years. We wish
him very well for his retirement, which begins in the New Year.
Jonathan
Sewell was appointed in early October
2004 to replace Ron Turner in the East Midlands area. Jonathan
comes with 12 years sales experience with BSS UK serving the
heating and ventilation market. More recently, Jonathan has
been selling gas and water pipework services into the Utility
sector.
Ron
and Jonathan are working closely together to effect as smooth
a handover as possible. |
