| In
accordance with Water Regulations, supply pipework should be flushed
completely and at full bore to remove any debris
and organic matter prior to commissioning all mixing valves and
shower valves. The Horne flushing kit allows effective flushing
after the TMVs or showers have been installed.
Flushing
adapters are available for all options of HORNE
15, HORNE
20, Heatstat
T2, HORNE
25 TMVs and the HORNE TSV1.
The flushing adapter enables the newly installed pipework to be
flushed clean of any debris without passing the debris through the
TMV and risking damage to the sealing faces.
Fitting
the HORNE Flushing Adapter
The
strainer
cap on the HORNE TMV is removed along with the mesh strainer
basket on the cold side of the mixing valve, and replaced with the
flushing adapter. It is essential that this is done before
water is run through the valve.
The
flushing hose is then attached to the adapter and positioned so
that water can run to drain. The water supply is turned on at the
isolating valve and allowed to run until the water is clean and
no further debris is evident. Repeat this procedure for the hot
water supply.
Horne
TSV1 shower panels are flushed in the same way - see diagram.
DO
NOT flush the pipework by removing the internals
of the mixing valve and flushing water through the empty or dummy
valve. The pressure drop across the valve and the downstream tap
will prevent the water flow attaining maximum velocity and this
will not be sufficient for effective cleaning of debris and biofilm
from the pipework. |
